You've probably heard of Annie Sloan Satin Paint, and you might be wondering what the difference is between Chalk Paint and Satin Paint, and when is best to use each. Well, read on for the three best places to choose Satin Paint...
Satin Paint in Oxford Navy (outer edge) and Athenian Black (inside and floor front) looks beautiful on this fireplace. Choose Satin Paint over Chalk Paint for a slight sheen and an in-built protective finish. Satin Paint can be easily applied to wood, metal and other surfaces (for example, this fireplace was stone) but unlike Chalk Paint may require prep work first. You can find full usage instructions here.
BANANAS FOR BANISTERS Banisters, stair rails and skirting are very hard-working areas of your home that see frequent usage. Satin Paint is specifically formulated for those areas! Here we used Satin Paint in Canvas; a warm characterful white that contrasts beautifully with Annie Sloan Wall Paint in Tyrian Plum. Meanwhile, warmth comes from the hallway table painted using Chalk Paint in Emperor's Silk and knocked back with Dark Chalk Paint Wax. |

From end-of-the-line to thoroughly modern, this cheerful, contemporary, colourful sideboard is the perfect example of Chalk Paint being used to bring your dream home to life. From damaged, unloved, dark brown wood to soft, pretty and totally covetable in French Linen (with details using Barcelona Orange, Scandinavian Pink, Duck Egg Blue and Old White). |
Don't you love this ravishing number in bright, joy-sparking, turquoise blue-green Florence? The shading all comes from Dark Chalk Paint Wax, which has been applied along the edges and sides of the piece. It emphasises the gorgeous colour and gives some real oomph to this piece. This is your sign to try our White, Black, or Dark Chalk Paint Waxes yourself and see how easily they can take your painted pieces to the next level. |
Another magical furniture makeover! This inherited cabinet was beautiful but didn't suit the homeowner's style, home or needs. So, step up Chalk Paint in Olive, Country Grey and Versailles. Finished with Clear Chalk Paint Wax, these earthy warm and organic shades suit every home and bring a sense of calming comfort. The scalloped line is a beautiful extra detail which can be repeated throughout a room to create a motif. |
